This is my second week back at work, as I am a Grade 3 school teacher, so I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 week break! Early mornings are seeming to get harder as each one approaches, and I have to convince myself each and every morning to get out of bed and get ready. Except it has to be quicker than the morning before because I’ve slept in longer! As much as I love what I do, I feel absolutely exhausted lately.
On the weekend, my husband and I missioned out to find just the right, shape and price, pregnancy pillow. The lady behind the till looked surprised as she asked me if I’m already having trouble sleeping. I am only 16 ½ weeks and am not showing all that much yet, so her surprised reaction did not come as a shock to me. Needless to say, my answer was that I am already having trouble sleeping as hard and maybe even as ridiculous as that may seem! I would like to say that since we bought that pillow, an atomic bomb could go off in the middle of the night and I wouldn’t hear a single thing! I have been sleeping like the dead as I am just so comfy and cozy. *Does a little happy dance*
We had our 16 week check-up a few days ago and we were blessed enough to find out the gender of our beautiful, healthy baby! We haven’t told a sole yet, as we are having a gender reveal party for our parents and siblings this weekend. All I can say is thank goodness for Pinterest and all it’s amazing ideas. As it goes, we had already chosen names for our little bean, but upon learning the gender, we are now having doubts and will be spending the next few weeks or months going backwards and forwards until the right one comes along!
Seeing our beautiful baby is the absolute highlight of my month, albeit for a whole 5/10 minutes. We were told by our gynea that we have a hooligan on our hands as our baby was doing somersaults while trying to get a nice scan photo. Needless to say, we only got of baby’s spine and cheek/ear as it wouldn’t stay still for us.
I am so looking forward to being able to feel our baby move around and give a few kicks now and then. I have heard and read so many ladies stories about being pregnant and have so looked forward to this period in my life. I don’t think anything or anyone can really prepare you for all the stages of pregnancy and birth, but as soon as you enter into each and every stage, it is just so incredible and memorable. The idea that there is a perfect little being growing inside of you waiting to make a grand entrance into this world is just mind blowing!
Until next time
